Wachovia Bank Savings Account Rates
When we last looked at Wachovia Bank savings account rates, the bank had so far made no changes to its accounts after the Wells Fargo takeover. They’ve done so now, though only to change the names of the accounts themselves and a few of the terms. So this, our latest article at Interest Rates Reviews, is to bring you up to date on those changes.
There are still two basic savings account types to look at for Wachovia interest rates: Premium Savings and Money Market accounts. We’ll look at each of these and show you the current Wachovia savings account rates for them.
The Premium account has a $100 minimum to open, but incurs fees on balances under $300. There are three yield tiers for these accounts, leveled by balance total. These tiers have an annual percentage yield (APY) on the following scale:
- $0-$24,999 = 0.05% APY
- $25,000-$49,999 = 0.10% APY
- $50,000+ = 0.15% APY
For the Wachovia high yield savings money market account, the APY is 0.75% regardless of account balance. There is a minimum $2,500 to avoid fees and $1,000 minimum to open. For many, this is the better choice for Wachovia Bank savings account rates payoff.
